CABIBIHAN, CAIBIRAN – Light finally reached to almost 1,000 homes at Jade Crowne Meadows in Caibiran after the Switch-on Ceremony and Formal Energization was conducted by Biliran Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BILECO) today, July 23, 2020.
Said energization program, that was highly supported and graced by Provincial Governor Rogelio J. Espina, is another milestone in the Rural Electrification Program (REP) of the National Electrification Administration (NEA) and BILECO.
In his keynote speech, the provincial governor congratulated BILECO for the never-ending support and struggle towards continuous electrification programs in the province which according to him spur economic development for its constituents. Governor Espina also conveyed and encouraged new MCOs to be responsible members of the cooperative by keeping track of their obligations to pay their power bills.
GM Gerardo Oledan, in his welcome message highlighted that BILECO management and the board of directors will continue to materialize the goal of energizing the remaining unenergized households in Biliran Province.
The switch-on ceremony was also attended by representatives from the National Housing Authority (NHA), former mayor now the manager of Naval Water District, Hon. Eulalio G. Maderazo, local officials and stakeholders of Caibiran headed by Mayor Rhodessa Delante-Revita, Chief of Police Lt. Vic P. Viros and OIC-Municipal Fire Marshal SFO4 Hernan Francis F. Enage.
Amidst the pandemic, BILECO will not stop giving light to communities in Biliran Province because the foremost goal in leading the way towards total electrification still remains the top priority of this electric cooperative.
