The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Cagayan Province and the Cagayan I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CAGELCO I) recognized the contributions of BILECO in the rehabilitation of their distribution lines damaged by typhoon Lawin last October.

SP Cagayan passed Resolution No. 2016-9-191-AC, a resolution expressing sincerest and gratitude to BILECO for its priceless services for the efficient restoration of electric power in the province of Cagayan.

Likewise, CAGELCO I awarded BILECO a Plaque of Commendation for being instrumental in the accelerated restoration of their power.

Six linemen of BILECO, together with men of other electric cooperatives in Region 8, were sent to the affected areas in Northern Luzon on November 14 as task force kapatid, a demonstration of genuine spirit of brotherhood among electric cooperatives. Originally, the task force which departed on November 9 are scheduled to work only up to November 30. However, due to several areas which were left unenergized, they were extended up to December 9.

During the restoration activity, a brother from Southern Leyte Electric Cooperative (SOLECO) was electrocuted resulting to his untimely loss.
