BILECO employees underwent a two-day basic training on Psychological First Aid (PFA) at the Paradizu Resort in Brgy. Talahid, Almeria on November 9 to 10 and 16 to 17, 2022, for the first batch and second batch, respectively.

The activity was conducted by Mr. Cristobal Dexter V. Mendiola III, a Psychosocial Care Specialist from Ormoc City. With PFA, participants were taught on how to help individuals cope and recover from their mental health issues caused by disaster, crisis or emergency events.

During the training, participants went through lecture, group discussions including group dynamic activities and experiential learning, in which their diverse reactions and emotions were stimulated.

“We are sociable outside, but maybe we are also struggling inside, like we think a lot of things especially at work, with your dreams, ambitions and family problem.” BILECO HRAS Michael M. Gabing said.

Mr. Gabing together with the human resource personnel of the coop organized the training for its employees to de-stress and learn to practice self-care thereby preventing mental health issues and promoting good health. This activity is in relation to the celebration of the National Cooperatives Month and National Mental Health Awareness Month celebrated last October 2022.##
