The Biliran Provincial Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC) conducted a meeting together with participating provincial government and private agencies held at Dayen’s Place in Naval today, September 20, which was hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry Biliran Office.
The activity was presided by LPCC Chairperson and Provincial Governor Gerard Roger M. Espina. Agencies involved in the distribution of basic and prime commodities including basic utility services such BILECO presented their price and supply monitoring reports in which issues and concerns were raised right after.
GM Gerardo N. Oledan, during his presentation, addressed the high power rates being experienced by electric cooperatives in Region 8 including BILECO, while FSD Manager Ma. Liezyl Q. Garcia discussed the power rate components and the contributory factors resulting to increased power rates.
The LPC Council is set to have their next meeting on the last week of November 2022 after they have discussed the possible actions that will address the issues and concerns raised during the meeting today
