A new board of director was elected and duly proclaimed by the District Election Committee (DECOM) for Naval District during the conduct of regular district election last July 30, 2022, Saturday, at the Naval Central School, P.I. Garcia, Naval with six designated precinct areas. One of these precincts was placed at the Brgy. Mabini covered court in Higatangan Island with a Precinct Election Committee (PECOM) assigned.
In the combined result, Mrs. Milagros O. Caneja garnered a total vote of 428 against 117 votes obtained by Mr. Ronald Napala. After canvassing, the DECOM led by Chairperson Mrs. Alma Atibula proclaimed BOD-elect Mrs. Caneja as the winning candidate. She will officially swear the oath of office together with the other BOD-elect from the six Districts of Biliran on August 27, 2022 during the 34th Annual General Membership Assembly (AGMA).
