The Cathedral School of La Naval (CSN) and the Cabucgayan School of Arts and Trades (CNSAT) emerged champions in this year’s BILECO-hosted and initiated Clash of Juniors.

CSN won the coveted first place in spelling bee and poster-making contest while CNSAT bagged the top place in Quiz Bowl.

The Tucdao National High School (TNHS) clinched second place in both spelling bee and poster-making contest while Lucsoon National High School (LNHS) secured the second spot in quiz bowl, the LNHS’ first top award in the last five years.

The Naval State University-Laboratory High School (NSU-LHS) and Naval School of Fisheries (NSF) settled third in spelling bee and quiz bowl, respectively. The Kawayan National High School (KNHS) managed to secure the third spot in poster-making.

The 5-year old game was designed by BILECO to give opportunity and provide additional avenue for junior high school students to showcase their abilities, skills and wit in the field of various academic competitions.

Dr. Allan Paul U. Tubis, Administrative Officer V of DepEd-Division of Biliran, said that the activity was an added help to DepEd in providing an avenue for the students to explore their potentials. Tubis also suggested to give emphasis on values formation on future contests or activities BILECO will be undertaking as it is something lost or forgotten by this generation.

A total of 16 junior high schools participated in this year’s contest.
