12 February 2021, is a special non-working holiday declared by the national government in celebration of Chinese New Year throughout the country. Instead of celebrating at home, BILECO linemen however, continue with their job in pursuing the scheduled activity in Feeder 1 by climbing electric poles and tapping the rerouted main line located near Caraycaray Bridge.
The activity is part of the coop’s performance compliance for safety and service reliability. Due to this, some areas within the coop’s franchise has experienced power interruption with a maximum of ten hours starting from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM covering the areas from BILECO main office in Brgy. Caraycaray, Naval, going to Almeria and Kawayan up to its last sitio at Sitio Tubig, Brgy. Inasuyan.
On the other hand, areas from crossing of Brgy. San Isidro, Biliran up to Brgy. Caraycaray, Naval were only interrupted for a maximum of one hour in the morning between 7:00 and 8:00, and were interrupted again for about one hour between 4:00 and 5:00 in the afternoon during isolation and restoration of power.
The coop is grateful for the understanding of its affected MCOs in pushing through with this vital undertaking. MCOs are encouraged to find ways or engage in recreational activities and bear productively with the inconvenience.
