BILECO successfully held the blessing and the testing and commissioning of Higatangan Microgrid System at Higatangan island January 24, with the attendance of LGU Naval spearheaded by Mayor Gerard Roger Espina, BILECO BODs and personnel, the barangay officials and the Korean team. BILECO will attempt to energize the facility at any time and shall undergo further observation with regards to stability.
Mayor Espina said the technology is a milestone not only in the municipality of Naval but also in the whole province after being chosen as the second recipient of this project in the country.
BILECO tentatively scheduled the inauguration ceremony on March 8 with the expected presence of LGU, DOE, NEA and Korean government representatives.
BILECO hopes a more promising and progressive island of Higatangan upon the full operation of the project.
