BILECO reached even up to the highest mountains in Brgy. Ungale in Kawayan to continue its feeding activity yesterday, July 30, 2019 with around 56 pupil- beneficiaries from Ungale II Elementary School.
Such move was made possible with the initiative of the school principal in the name of Mr. Ariel Dable who strongly believed that academic excellence is only achieved when children are well fed.
Mr. Dable also collaborated with the Department of Health (DOH) and invited them to participate during the conduct of the said activity. In his message, he sincerely expressed his gratitude to the general manager Engr. Gerardo Oledan for granting this request. He also acknowledged the support coming from the parents and the Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) of Ungale.
Mr. Allan Joseph Borrinaga, the ISD Manager of BILECO together with other staffs enjoyed the grand welcoming surprise prepared by the principal, teachers and the pupils of the school.
In his speech, he highlighted that learning starts at home and urged the parents to be cautious on the food intake of their children.
Various games with prices were also prepared for the pupil- beneficiaries who actively participated in the entire activity.
BILECO does not only light homes and communities but also feed children in the province of Biliran.
