A ceremonial switch-on was held earlier this afternoon, August 23, for the energization of the 9 households in Sitio Tigbao, Brgy. Caucab in the Municipality of Almeria spearheaded by GM Gerardo Oledan with the Hon. Vice Governor Brigido ‘Cocoy’ Caneja.
Said ceremony was also graced by the SB Member Hon. Aladino Sale, the Board of Directors; Dir. Alberto Espregante and Dir. Dino Peñaflor, Technical Services Department Head Engr. Carlitus Caesar Casinillo, Area 3 Engr. Lucrecio Vidal, Barangay Officials headed by Capt. Willy Cabuquin, and some officers of the Barangay Member-Consumer Electrification Committee (BMCEC).
In his message before the beneficiaries of the Sitio Electrification Program (SEP), Engr. Oledan claimed to have achieved 100% barangay electrification and about 90% in the sitio level in the whole province. He stressed out that the management will continue the SEP with the aid and support of the LGU and NEA.
The General Manager also urged the local government unit to waive the less privileged individuals in paying for all the necessary requirements when applying for new electric connection.
Meanwhile, Vice Governor Caneja congratulated the BILECO management for another milestone and achievement and reminded all the beneficiaries to be responsible in utilizing the electricity.
The barangay captain Hon. Cabuqiuin also expressed his gratitude to the management for this opportunity and even requested to include the remaining 20 households in Sitio Palayan in the next batch of SEP beneficiaries.
Two SEP beneficiaries were emotional as they were also given the chance to speak before the officials.
BILECO will not stop serving until the last household is energized. It is the mission of this electric coop to continue giving hope and lighting homes in the province of Biliran!
