Another housing project successfully energized by BILECO on 26 February 2021, at San Lorenzo Heights located in Brgy. Guindapunan, Culaba, after conducted the same on 23 February 2021 in San Antonio Village, Brgy. Villa Enage, Biliran.
A total of 754 housing units of San Antonio Heights were formally energized. The occupants of this housing project are mostly families badly hit by super typhoon Yolanda in 2013.
The energization and switch-on ceremony was attended by all members of BILECO Board of Directors headed by its Board President, Mrs. Salvacion C. Jornales. Culaba Mayor, Humphrey B. Olimba was also present on the said ceremony together with Barangay Captain, Angelita Reveldez and the rest of the barangay officials of Guindapunan, Culaba.
The Provincial Governor of Biliran, Gov. Rogelio J. Espina, who was cordially invited to grace the energization but failed to attend due to conflict of schedule was represented by his Vice Governor, Brigido “Kokoy” Caneja III. However, Governor Espina later arrived at the last minute of the program and delivered his message to the Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs) with full of liveliness.
The coop managed to maintain and strongly implemented the social distancing protocol during the switch-on ceremony with the help of the police officers from Culaba Police Station.
NHA energization is part of BILECO’s electrification programs through the leadership of General Manager, Engr. Gerardo Oledan, in line with the National Electrification Administration’s (NEA) major goal that is, to attain 100 percent electrification by 2022.
