December 4, 2020 marked the culmination of the 41st PHILRECA Annual General Membership meeting highlighting the giving of awards and recognition to all electric cooperatives in the country dubbed PHILRECA Awards from the Wires.
PHILRECA recognized ECs based on their performance for the past year including, among others, their contribution, milestone achievements and innovations.
Fr. Francisco G. Silva, in his inspirational message, said NEA and PHILRECA must consistently remind its consumer-owners that rural electrification revolution triggered massive economic development, employment of millions and the modernization of the quality of life.
Throughout the 4-day celebration, every moment was filled with gratitude and pride from the roots and enablers of electric service – the linemen who are the warriors of light to the governing bodies of the electric cooperatives who act as the manuevers of light.
United as never before! This has been the fruit of the strong determination and representation of the power bloc party-list representatives, Hon. Sergio C. Dagooc of APEC, Hon. Godofredo N. Guya of RECOBODA, Hon. Adriano A. Ebcas of Ako Padayon and Hon. Presley C. De Jesus of PHILRECA who assured their committment in continuing to pursue the promises made from the very beginning.
“… Continue our fight, continue our legacy,” De Jesus underscored in his message.
This strong bond was emphasized when CEMRECA President Grodofredo B. Homez, in his opening remaks, stressed that no one will be left behind be it a small or big electric cooperative.
PHILRECA, together with the 121 ECs are preparing for programs and projects that envision the involvement of member-consumer-owners.
As it has always been, these countless and unconditional efforts are for, no other than, the 13 million MCOs who have been the major source of strength of the missionary movement on total rural electrification.
Indeed, PHILRECA will be charging for the future amidst unprecedented obstacles through the involvement of ECs and MCOs.
The awards received today by the ECs are manifestations of their continued desire for excellence and commitment to serve its MCOs. Likewise, these serve as challenge to sustain the gains of the rural electrification movement and embark on an even more arduous battle ahead.
Bring it on! The movement goes on!
