The Electric Cooperatives Emergency and Resiliency Fund (ECERF) Act of 2017 is scheduled for deliberation in the Committee on Appropriations tomorrow, November 28, 2017. Last July 25, 2017, the ECERF was already approved by the Committee on Energy.
The deliberation scheduled tomorrow was brought out through the continuous effort of 1-CARE Representative Carlos Roman L. Uybarreta with the help and cooperation of Committee on Appropriations Chairman Representative Karlo Alexei Nograles. The Committee on Appropriations will deliberate on the bill as to its funding mechanism.
The ECERF will allot Php 1,000,000,000.00 for the electric cooperatives’ disaster prevention, preparedness and mitigation measures, restoration or rehabilitation of the electric cooperatives’ damaged infrastructures after a fortuitous event, and for the repayment of outstanding obligations of electric cooperatives for the purpose of financing the restoration or rehabilitation of its damaged infrastructures.
