In line with the National Electrification Awareness Month (NEAM) celebration, BILECO held an energy forum to junior high schools in the province of Biliran throughout the month of August 2017.
The high schools scheduled in this year’s forum were the Cathedral School of La Naval, Naval School of Fisheries, Biliran Science High School, Culaba National Vocational School and Almeria National High School.
The participants which totaled to more than 400 were taught on the importance of electricity, how electricity gets to home, the basic concept of the electric power industry and the energy conservation and safety tips.
The schools were overwhelmed on the initiative extended by the Cooperative to reach out and educate the young students on the proper usage of electricity to avoid any disasters brought about by misuse of electricity.
BILECO also urged the schools and the students to observe and make energy conservation a habit.
