The National Electrification Administration, through Office Order No. 2017-029, has appointed Dino S. Peñaflor as NEA Representative to the Board of Directors of BILECO effective February 1, 2017.
The appointment of a representative to ECs was pursuant to the supervisory powers of NEA under its Charter specifically Section 7 of P.D. 269, 1645, as amended by R.A. 10531.
Peñaflor, who shall be in the Board for a period of one year, is on a non-voting status. His functions include attendance to all Coop Board meetings, advise the Board of Directors during meetings to ensure a high level, more productive and harmonious conduct of meetings and ensure the formulation by the Board of coop policies that are consistent with NEA policies, rules and regulations.
Likewise, the new representative shall submit monthly reports to the Administrator which shall serve as the basis for evaluation of the Coop’s operation and guidance for NEA’s effective supervision of the cooperative.
